Wireless Range and Extension

A key advantage of the new Ajax EN54 line is its strong wireless range. While traditional fire protection systems require kilometers of cable connections, the Ajax system uses its own wireless protocols: Jeweller, Wings, and TurboWings.

These technologies ensure stable, encrypted data transmission and particularly wide coverage. Under optimal conditions, the range between the control panel and individual devices is up to 1,800 meters. This means that large buildings, such as warehouses, shopping centers, and office complexes, can be fully secured without additional cables.

Expansion with the EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller

Ajax developed the EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller for buildings with large dimensions or complex architecture. This device acts as a wireless range extender, connecting the control panel to end devices even through solid walls or multiple floors.

• It supports multiple protocols: The ReX works with Jeweller, Wings, TurboWings, and via Ethernet.
• Wide coverage: Up to five ReX devices can be connected to each control panel, increasing the range to an impressive 35 km².

Radio range is a decisive factor in the reliability of fire protection systems. In an emergency, the alarm message must be received immediately by the control center and all connected signal transmitters. With Ajax, fast response times are guaranteed, and it is possible to completely secure even very large or listed buildings without structural intervention.

A reliable fire protection system must continue to function when the regular power supply fails. Power outages pose a significant risk to fire protection because they disable lighting and technology and can render conventional fire alarm systems inoperable.
The Ajax EN54 line solves this problem with a sophisticated emergency power supply. Replaceable lithium-ion batteries with 24- or 72-hour run times ensure operation during prolonged outages. This means the alarm system remains active at all times, regardless of the local power supply.

The batteries are hot-swappable, which is particularly practical. They can be replaced during operation without shutting down the system. This saves time and money on complex maintenance work.

Intelligent Fire Detectors and Alarm Devices

The new EN54 FireProtect Jeweller detectors are the result of years of development, offering innovative technology for professional fire protection.

• Dual-spectrum sensors: Using blue and infrared LEDs, these sensors detect smoke particles much more accurately than conventional systems.
• The HazeFlow 2 algorithm: This ensures lightning-fast, reliable smoke detection without false alarms caused by dust or steam.
• Heat detection: Two thermistors measure temperature increases and fixed limit values. This means that both smoldering fires and sudden fire developments are detected.
• Flexibility: All detectors are available with an optional integrated 85 dB signal transmitter, enabling both audible and silent solutions.

Alarms are provided by sirens and visual alarm devices (VADs), which activate in less than three seconds. With a volume of up to 100 dB and 32 selectable tones, the alarms meet the requirements of a wide variety of environments. The LED frames emit intense red light signals that remain visible in strong sunlight and large rooms.
