The heart of Tedee Door Protect is the Tedee Door Sensor, Tedee's latest innovation, which for the first time provides highly accurate door status information in real time - without the need for complex wiring or expensive retrofitting.
Discreet design & easy installation
The slim sensor unit has an unobtrusive, modern design: it measures just 30 × 15 × 7 mm, weighs less than 10 g and is attached to the door leaf and frame without tools using an adhesive pad. A built-in tilt sensor reliably detects whether the door is open, closed or tilted, while a powerful neodymium magnet ensures stable alignment. Automatic calibration upon initial activation allows the sensor to adapt to almost any type of door, from lightweight aluminum to heavy-duty steel.
Dual mode for maximum flexibility
Technically, the Tedee Door Sensor uses low-power BLE (Bluetooth 5.0) wireless technology to transmit status messages to the Smart Lock or, if desired, directly to the Tedee Bridge. This allows your customers to benefit from two modes of operation:
Bridgeless Bluetooth operation
- Automatic Locking Pause: Prevents automatic locking until the door is fully closed.
- On-device logging: Stores up to 1,000 locking and unlocking events, synchronizing with an authorized smartphone the next time contact is made.
Cloud operation with Tedee Bridge
- True remote monitoring: Live door status and alarm notifications if the door is open for an unusually long time, directly in your cloud portal or via push notification.
- Automated firmware updates: Keep your sensor and smart lock up to date with over-the-air updates.
- Advanced analytics: Detailed analysis of door cycles and usage statistics helps optimize operations and security policies.
Maximum data security & GDPR compliance
The Tedee Door Sensor sets new standards in data security: all wireless connections are encrypted with AES-256 and use TLS 1.3 for cloud communication. This meets the highest compliance standards and fulfills all GDPR requirements - including optional anonymization of all personal data.
Low Maintenance & Energy Efficient
The CR2032 coin cell battery with intelligent battery metering gives you up to 24 months of battery life. When the energy level drops below 20%, the sensor automatically alerts you via BLE beacon or Cloudpush that the battery needs to be replaced.

- API/SDK: Open for integration with RFID, PIN or biometric access systems, as well as building management and BMS/DALI platforms.
